Like his work in glass, Chihuly’s approach to drawing embraces both spontaneity and disciplined compositional balance. In the Nebula Baskets Fine Art Print, twin Basket forms are offset against a cerulean gradient animated by splatters of scarlet. The weight of the composition is balanced between the heaviest application of red and the darkest shade of blue. Meanwhile, handwork of bright yellow paint visually lifts the Basket forms from the surface of the print.
