Dale Chihuly’s early breakthrough in embracing heat, breath, and gravity to create the slumped organic character of his Baskets soon evolved to include the use of optical molds. Plunging molten glass into these molds, he found, produced a hypnotic ribbed textural effect. Chihuly coined these new works Seaforms as a nod to their abstract marine shapes.

With its nested elements and curved shapes, the 2025 Golden Rose Seaform Studio Edition is a study in dimension. The interiors of its two forms feature a deep rose hue that lends emphasis to the interplay of convexity and concavity. Contrasting with their bright tangerine exteriors, a cornflower-blue lip wrap traces the two forms’ edges, animating the entire composition.
