THE BOOKSTORE

In 2000, Chihuly was commissioned to create a significant body of prints to be shown on the property of a Seattle hotel in its guest rooms and public spaces. To commemorate the millennium, the hotel wished to add a contemporary artist to their collection.  Constantly inventive, Chihuly chose to create woodcut prints of his drawings for the commission. In contrast to the property's collection at the time, Chihuly elected to use vibrant and mod-era color palettes for these elegantly elemental prints
